Season Training Philosophy

How the 10 Weeks Progress

  1. Weeks 1–3: Direct technical coaching, ball mastery, first touch, passing, 1v1, combination play, team shape and transition.
  2. Practice 1 In-Season: Fix and develop something that showed up in the weekend game.
  3. Practice 2 In-Season: Prepare for match situations with more 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 and scrimmaging.
  4. Game-Like Progression: Passing pattern → 3v1 → 3v3 → directional game → scrimmage.
  5. Technical Window: Keep roughly the first 20–30 minutes technical, then make the remaining hour increasingly game-like.
  6. Small-Sided Games: Prioritize 2v2 → 3v3 → 4v4 → 7v7.
  7. Scrimmage Time: Reserve roughly 25–30 minutes for scrimmaging during in-season practices.
  8. Coach Less Over Time: Ask more questions and give players more responsibility for solving the game.
